Giveaway: $150 Gift Certificate for Fabbrica

As part of my participation in the San Pellegrino Canadian Regional Almost Chef Competition, the kind people at San Pellegrino have offered Sift, Dust & Toss readers a lovely $150 dollar gift certificate for Fabbrica, Mark McEwan's new authentic Italian restaurant that features San Pellegrino beverages.

In order to enter this contest, please leave a comment below telling me which is your favourite San Pellegrino sparkling beverage and what meal you like to 'pair' it with. The winner will be selected randomly from the list of entries.

This contest is open to residents of the Greater Toronto Area. Contest closes at 12 Noon on Friday, February 4, 2011. The winner will be notified shortly after the contest closes.

Good luck!

  1. My favourite is San Pelligrino Aranciata paired with Arangini with chopped asparagus!

  2. San Pellegrino Limonata. It's the perfect thirst quencher, so I like it on it's own. Anytime. If I have to pair it with something, I'd say anything on the menu at a backyard BBQ. Or as an aperitif with an appetizer of crostini.

  3. I like San Pellegrino Limonata with a Zaatar seasoned chicken burger or meatballs. It makes for a great summer meal.

  4. I definitely prefer the basic sparkling San Pel.

What to pair it with? Pasta could be the answer, but, honestly, my favourite pairing would be any summer meal made with fresh produce and eaten outside.

  5. A bottle of plain San Pellegrino sparkling water with a Neapolitan style pizza margherita. Keep it simple...silly

  6. Truth B T, I like all of the San Pellegrino beverages equally. That being said, When I first moved to Montreal in 2000 I worked the night shift serving at Eurodeli on the Main. My favorite snack at that time was a bowl of the Tortellini with pesto and a can of Chinotto. The bittersweet flavor created a nice counterpoint to the salty richness of the pasta con pesto.

  8. Good with a plate of cured Italian meats and cheeses, prosciutto, salami, cappicola, with some asiago, boccacini and parmesan cheese - maybe a salad with a balsamic vinagrette and some Calabrese bread. My personal fav is the limonata.

  9. I like the original San Pellegrino sparkling water the best - sans flavouring of any kind. I like to pair it with a hangover normally (seriously, best. cure. ever.) but should i be eating, a margarita pizza is ideal.

  10. Original San Pellegrino is my favourite. And with just about anything but especially a sandwich - ham and cheese or salami or grilled eggplant.

  12. I love the straight sparkling water and I pair it with almost anything. We love it so much. It goes amazingly well with Veal and pasta.

  13. Another perfect pair - San Pellegrino Chinotto with a wood oven pizza topped with mozzarella di bufala and thinly sliced proscuitto! Mmmm!
