Today at Union station in Toronto: 20,000 avocados are being given away. You can check out the social media release on CNW here from Avocados from Mexico.
My mom planted an avocado pit and it actually started growing a little plant. Whether it will yield any fruit is another story. Does it count as a 100-Mile Diet if you plant non-local things locally?
I think so because the idea is that it doesn't destroy the environment by being sprayed by preservatives and trucked for 3,000 miles. Let me know how it turns out.

I'm hoping I can snag an avocado to test out the avocado chocolate cupcakes! Did you see that recipe on the SMR? Looks delicious.
Sheesh. That sounds buttery and delicious. Sometimes I put avocados in smoothies to fill me up for longer with their lovely good fat.
I hope they don't run out too quickly. I want to nip down to Union for some avos too!
MMM Avocados. The sole reason I will never be able to adhere to the 100-Mile Diet. Well, that and tequila. Maybe I should just move to Mexico.
Mexico - sounds about right!
